These two latest films on DB Baileys sim LOCUS are from older film clips I had saved to recreate a better quality film when I was able to reproduce them and re-present them in a better format. Hope you understand . Enjoy! The days when I was in graphics we called our prims (primitives) entities. A single line that you gave an exact length to and coordinates to all of them attaching them exactly to the ends of each other. Boy they have it sort of easy today. The objects we create then link together to create all the wonderful things you see in a lot of our machinima films. We use to call linking grouping. Then the Wireframe which has become mesh which had become a solid for sometime in my day for machining lol.I remember going to the lotus fair in Boston back in 95 I think it was and saw Macromeida on an overhead projector with someone drawing a daisy freehand and filling in the lines with color and then projecting it with a thickness I went WoW. Thank you thank you you but later I missed in away creating the way I had been trained. Everything was exact down to the mm + or - why did i miss that? Anyway I will not say what they builders do in Second life do is simple. It is far from that. Some of the creations i C in there r remarkable. What's complicated are the minds of the people in there that think up all those fantastic things.For me back when the solid then had a face applied which is texture now and this is what most of this sim is made out of. Textures...I love textures!!! His textures!It's all still basic Geometry but beautiful! The demi-god who from birth caused all to fall madly in love with him but who died tragically being in love only with his own image!Less well-known is the prediction made by Tiresias, Nemesis' cursed intervention, the nymph Echo's love for Narcissus and the dramatic story of love and lose that follows.It is a tale illustrating that death and revival are intertwined.A mythological story retains its longevity because the truths it reveals are as relevant in contemporary times are they were in ancient times. This leads me to wonder, when Tiresias says to the dying Narcissus "And without knowing why, you longed for yourself and mistook a shadow for a body. You did not perceive that the object of your desire was nowhere to be found", if there might be a similar relationship between ourselves and our avatar.Qui ne connaît le mythe de Narcisse ? Ce demi-dieu capable de rendre fou d'amour n'importe qui dès le berceau et qui mourut d'inanition en tombant amoureux de son image. On connait moins bien la prédiction de Tiresias et le drame d'amour maudit que vécu la nymphe Echo amoureuse de Narcisse. Mythe où mort et renouveau sont intimement liés. Mythe toujours très actuel, qui quand à la fin du film, Tiresias dit à Narcisse mourant : « Sans le savoir, tu t'es désiré, tu as pris pour corps une ombre»«Tu n'as pas compris que ce que tu désirais n'était nulle part.»...Cela m'a fortement fait pensé aux rapports que nous pouvons parfois entretenir avec nos avatars.

Motion capture artist Abramelin Wolfe monetizes his creativity by humanizing our virtual lives -- one fluid movement at a time. The couple makes their living capturing performances ranging from everyday walking and communicating to 1920's flapper dances and Geisha sequences.
